Well, that was a sudden shift. Almost overnight, it seems, businesses that were humming along with a great economic environment have come to a screeching halt. And even if your business was deemed “essential” (like ours), many of your customers may not have been. No customers, no revenue, so we all go into “hunker down” mode.
That can be very scary. How will the business survive without customers? How long will this last? Will we have enough reserve cash to ride out the storm? We can certainly sympathize. However, there is a way we could, as the saying goes, make lemonade from lemons.
When business is slow, you have something you might not normally have: time. And, you might be stuck at home with limited travel, so you don’t have to spend time commuting, either. Rather than binge-watching Netflix, maybe there’s a way both to take some of the sting out of the situation and feel like we’re accomplishing something at the same time.
Every business, however small, has some form of business processes. They could be really simple, or really complex. But everyone has processes. And, what better time to re-evaluate those processes and design improvements than when business is slow?
So brainstorm! What parts of your business process bug you, but you never had time to fix? Or maybe there are areas of inefficiency that you could never address before, because you couldn’t shut down production long enough to look at it.
This is where we can help. Building software solutions is only part of what we do. Our goal is to help businesses manage their data more effectively. Process streamlining is a big part of it. Building the software comes after we investigate the kinks in the processes.
So if you want to take advantage of this opportunity, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We don’t even have to do any hands-on work, and our first consultation is always free. We’d love to help.
